March Artists of the Month on exhibit at The DCAU Gallery

As many of you know, there are numerous students at Dawson Community College who are bursting with artistic potential.  Well, now you have the opportunity to see some of their artwork. The DCC Art Club’s members as well as other students with a passion for the arts are contributing some of their work to a show at The DCAU Gallery downtown Glendive.

“The Foreigner” An Inspired Comic Romp March 4 & 5

Dawson Community College Theater Department will present the hilariously funny play entitled: The Foreigner written by Larry Shue and directed by Ron Conrad. This play is a sentimental, often hilarious farce, full of loopy jokes with a gentle lesson about tolerance and friendship slipped in unobtrusively.

First produced at the Milwaukee (Wisconsin) Repertory Theatre in January of 1983 it eventually won two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production.

A Mixed Media Painting Workshop with artist Walter Piehl Saturday takes place April 16th 9 – 12, 1 – 4 and Sunday, April 17th 10 - 12, 1 – 3 Preregister by April 11th.

Participants will be working with artist and teacher Walter Piehl creating artwork using still life with a western motif exploring a variety of techniques that will emphasize his expressionistic approach to painting. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with mixed media to discover the creative potential of the expressionistic style.

Dawson Community College Gallery 126 is pleased to present the hand pulled fine art prints of Linda Whitney. Linda Whitney’s exhibit New Intaglios will be open to the public from Monday, February 28th through Friday, April 8th. Gallery 126 hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm, and evenings Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6:30 to 9 pm. Located in room 126 computer lab next to the library. Brunch with the Bucs Saturday, February 5

Brunch with the Bucs

The Opus Society is proud to host Brunch with the Bucs Saturday, February 5 from 10 am to 5pm in the Toepke Center. Fans, family, and alumni are invited join in the pre-game festivities, meet current athletes, coaches, and musicians, and kick off game day as the Bucs take on Lake Region State College.

**Music alumni will join current students in singing the national anthem and play in the pep band for the game. Catch the buccaneer spirit and kick off game day in true DCC style.

Gallery 126 - Trish Stevenson Exhibits

Dawson Community College Gallery 126 is pleased to present the paintings of Trish Stevenson. Eastern Montana horse lovers and rodeo fans will especially enjoy her images of ranch country. Trish's exhibit Through the Dust - Colors of the West will be open to the public Monday, January 10th through Friday, February 25th. On Friday, January 28th from 5 to 8 pm there will be an Artist Reception for Trish. As always, everyone is welcome to come enjoy the artwork, conversation, and refreshments.

Nineteenth Annual Madrigal Dinner

Dawson Community College Music Department will present the nineteenth annual production of the Madrigal Dinner on December 3 and 4 at the Toepke Center on the DCC campus. The castle doors will open each evening at 5:30 p.m., with feasting and festivities commencing at 6. Transformed into a Renaissance castle, the Toepke Center becomes the backdrop to a feast for eyes and ears fit for a king. Traditional and contemporary music await castle guests as vocal and instrumental performers, jesters, jugglers, and dancers provide the Lord of the Manner and his court an evening of enjoyment.

Dawson Community College Art Department is proud to present the outstanding art work of DCC’s talented and creative student artists. Forty-one students will be exhibiting their artwork in the Dawson Community College Annual Fall 2010 Juried Student Art Show.

Dawson Community College is pleased and excited to have the paintings of Billing’s artist Allison O’Donnell on display in Gallery 126. Her exhibit Organizing Elements will be open for public viewing from Monday, November 1st through Friday, December 17th. Gallery 126 hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm, and evenings Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6:30 to 9 pm. Located in room 126 computer lab next to the library.
