2002-2003 Men's Baseball
Men’s
baseball has been an intercollegiate sports for DCC since
1997. The baseball team won the conference
in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and won their Regional tournament
in 2001. They advanced to the NJCAA Division III World
Series where they placed seventh.

2003 Outlook
The 2003 Buccaneer squad should once again be a strong contender
for a Regional Championship. With seven players returning
and sixteen new recruits this years team looks to improve
on last seasons 41-18 record and third place finish at the
Regional Tournament.
The
Bucs will have to overcome losing sophomore All-American
Ben Wingerter and others including Jeff Bates,
Andrew Van Marle, Brent Unrau and Casey Baugh. The 2003 team
will build around returning players Brendan Banning, Kip
Hansen, Chris Losett, O’Shean Moran, Riley Kelly and pitchers
Byron Banning and Marc Anderson.
Coach Diegel states, "This years team will posses good team
speed, solid defense and a deeper pitching staff. We have
a very competitive schedule this year which will help us
prepare for the Regional Tournament. If we can stay healthy
and the kids continue to improve, the 2003 Bucs should be
exciting to follow," states Coach Diegel.
