Dawson Community College Head Coach Jim LeProwse is pleased to announce that he has received a verbal commitment from two Belgrade, Montana players for the 2013-2014 season. Taylar Johnson and Taylor Hill both from Belgrade High School will graduate in 2013 and continue their education and softball careers at DCC.
Dawson Community College Head Coach Jim LeProwse is pleased to announce that he has received a verbal commitment from three Utah players for the 20113-2014 season. McKenzie Anderson and Haylee Hemmert both from Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah and Venessa Quintero from Box Elder High School in Brigham City, Utah. All three will graduate in 2013 and will continue their education and softball careers at DCC.
The DCC Baseball team assisted Chuck Page, the general manager at Cottonwood Country Club in Glendive, and his staff this week. Together they covered all nine greens as well as the practice green of the golf course. This was the first year that they have covered all the greens. Good job Bucs!
Aly Schieno, originally from Glendive, is one of the newest members to join the DCC's Lady Bucs volleyball team. She was born in Glendive and then moved to Dickinson, ND ten years ago, where she began her 3rd grade school year. While attending Dickinson Trinity High School, Schieno has been involved with band for three years; competed in basketball for three years, volleyball for four years, and will have participated in track and field for four years at the time of her graduation.

Seven student-athletes, from colleges and universities across the state, will receive the 2012 Montana Athletes in Service Award sponsored by the Montana Campus Compact. Each student-athlete will be recognized this weekend for their outstanding commitment to civic engagement, volunteerism, and the impact that their service has on the community.
Dawson Community College alumnus Shelby Lindley was recently named head men's basketball coach and sports information director at Central Wyoming College. He was originally hired as an assistant for Rustler basketball this fall but was promoted when coach Curtis Condie resigned in October.
Originally from Wellsville, Utah Lindley was a member of the DCC men’s baseball team where, as a sophomore in 2007, he achieved Mon-Dak first team pitcher and utility player under former Buccaneer head coach Brent Diegel.
DCC will host the District 2C Volleyball Championships on October 25-27. Eight area teams will be vying for the right to participate in the Eastern C Divisional Tournament in Sidney on November 1-3. Four teams will advance from the District Championship to the Divisional Championship and a chance to earn a spot in the State Tournament.

The Buccaneer volleyball team is hosting a “Dig Pink” night during its 7 p.m. match against Sheridan College at home in Toepke Center on Tuesday, Oct. 9, to promote breast cancer awareness and raise money for research.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the “Dig Pink” initiative. “This is a great event to raise awareness for breast cancer. Each year millions of dollars are raised by volleyball teams around the nation. We are honored to be part of this movement.” said Head Coach John Marble.
Dawson Community College invites all alumni to visit campus Saturday, October 13th. Dust off your shoes and come play. Softball game will be at 11am on the B.L.
