Fall Alumni Games - Softball, Men's and Women's Basketball

Dawson Community College invites all alumni to visit campus Saturday, October 13th. Dust off your shoes and come play. Softball game will be at 11am on the B.L. Brittany Pascal Assists with Mock Disaster

DCC student Brittany Pascal, from Loveland Colorado, joined 12 of her teammates and classmates as victims of a mock disaster to help our Glendive first response teams train over the weekend.

Student athletes at Dawson have volunteered 293 hours to date.

Josh Link, DCC Alumnus, Lives a Dream

Josh Link holds his well deserved PBA card.

Josh Link from Hardin MT has traded in his baseball to finally realize his lifelong dream of becoming a professional bowler. Link with his memorable blue baseball glove pitched for the Dawson Community College Buccaneers during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

He began bowling when he was just two years old. Now 24, he has made his debut on the Professional Bowlers Association Tour in San Jose, CA during the Labor Day weekend.

The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) recognized Link after he posted league averages of 230+ over the past three years.

Emily O'Callaghan Signs with Southern New Hampshire University

Emily O'Callaghan, Sophomore from Glanmire, Ireland, signed with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a NCAA Division II school in Manchester, NH.

O'Callaghan will be moving 2,000 miles east of Dawson Community College in Glendive MT this year to play for the Penmen in Manchester, NH. SNHU is a NCAA Division II with a rich tradition of athletics and a student population of 7,300.

Casey Grace Signs with Fairfield University in CT

#34 Casey Grace, sophomore co-captain from Cork, Ireland, has signed to play Division I basketball with Fairfield University.

A forward, Casey Grace averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals/game for the Lady Buccaneers last year. Casey was active in volunteering in the community helping coach the Lil Bucs 7th grade girls traveling basketball.

Christel Enriquez signs to play with Lindenwood Belleville

#22 Christel Enriquez, a guard for the Dawson Community College Buccaneers, has signed to play basketball in Belleville, Illinois. Belleville is the eighth-most populated city outside of the Chicago Metropolitan Area and the most populated city south of Springfield in the state of Illinois with a population of over 44,000. This should be quite a change for Enriquez after playing for the Dawson Community College Buccaneers in Glendive Montana which has a population of around 6,500.

Congratulations Marissa Cumber!

Marissa Cumber, from Shepherd, MT is a Dawson Community College sophomore. She won first place for her drawing "Eyes" and third place for her "Abstract Horse" painting in the Fine Arts Exhibit at the 2012 Montana Fair in Billings this summer.

Marissa is not only a talented artist; she is, also, on the Dean's List with high honors. She plays for the award winning Lady Bucs softball team and she was secretary last year and treasurer this year for the DCC Associated Student Body.

 

Kortney Diegel - DCC's New Head Rodeo Coach

Dean of Student Services, Joyce Ayre is pleased to announce that
Kortney Diegel has accepted the position of Head Rodeo Coach for the Dawson Community College Buccaneers.

She returned to DCC in 2010 to work for the TRiO Student Support Services and is a familiar face on campus.

“We’re very happy to hire Kortney Diegel as our rodeo coach,” Ayre said. “Her experience as an assistant coach for the Bucs gave her knowledge of the program that made her the right fit for our next rodeo coach.”

DCC Athletics Adds 20 Baseball Players

The first day of practice for the Buccaneer baseball team was hot and filled with determination.

Dawson Community College Head Baseball Coach, Aaron Carroll, announced the addition of 20 players to the 2012-2013 roster.

Carroll, who is starting his second season at Dawson, is very excited about the new faces.  "When I took over the program last year, there had been very little recruiting done. By the end of the season I was determined to increase the depth and talent needed to make this year's team more competitive. I think we have accomplished this with a lot of time and hard work."

DCC Star Player Hunter Balmer signs with NC Team

July 23 Dawson Community College baseball alumnus, Hunter Balmer, signed a national letter of intent to play baseball in North Carolina for Mount Olive College in Mount Olive. 

Balmer, a Brigham City, UT native, will travel over 2,000 miles to reach his new home - a NCAA Division II institution that plays in the Carolina Conference.
