Don Mast, Dawson Community College Men's Basketball Coach, would like to announce that Barry Murnion, Abraham Ekperuoh and Jake Ebbon have committed to play basketball for the Buccaneers next year.
Barry Murnion is 6'5", 175lbs and is the son of Barry and Marry Murnion of Chinook, MT. "Barry has steadily improved his game and has the kind of work ethic that will make him an asset in our program" said Coach Mast.
Dawson Community College 2011-2012 Awards Banquet was held Sunday April 22. The banquet is a tradition at DCC and includes acknowledgment for both academic and sports award recipients. This year's dinner was prepared by Garth Clingingsmith at the Moose Lodge in Glendive. Hosted by the Associated Student Body participants enjoyed lasagna and garlic bread sticks with a Caesar salad and cupcakes for dessert.
Coming to the J&A Arena April 27 to the 29, exciting rodeo action in Glendive Montana. The Dawson Community College Rodeo Team will compete this month at home. Come out and support the Bucs.
The rodeo will offer a full weekend of cowboy action. The Buccaneers will engage in bareback riding, calf roping, goat tying, barrel racing, steer wrestling and bull riding. Other attractions included Saturday’s No-Host dinner at the J & A Arena provided by the Yellowstone River Inn. The dinner begins at 5pm, April 28.
Last weekend the DCC baseball team played in the MON-DAK round robin tournament. The Bucs finished 2-2. On Friday DCC lost to Williston 9-0. Saturday was a different story as Dawson bounced back for a 5-1 win over Dakota College. "This was not just a win for the Bucs, but Freshman pitcher Josh Rustad (LHP) out of Polson, MT, threw a NO-HITTER" said DCC head baseball coach Aaron Carroll.
Building on continued improvements and upgrades to the exercise areas available on the Dawson Community College campus, Tracey Clingingsmith and Kevin Pena are conducting a fundraiser that will enhance the weight room located in Toepke Center.
Eight teams competed in twelve games over Easter weekend. This is the third year DCC Athletics has sponsored the event in the Toepke Center at Dawson Community College. The 3rd Annual Bucs & Bunnies Coed Bball Tourney is a fundraiser for Dawson Community College Athletics.

Coach Tracey Clingingsmith is pleased to announce Haylee Gallegos and Brittany Smith have signed letters of intent to play for the Dawson Community College Lady Buccaneers next season.
Haylee Gallegos is a 5'7" point guard out of Laurel, Montana majoring in Law. Haylee was the Co-MVP of the Treasure State Classic held last month. Her high school team finished in fourth place at the state tournament in 2012 and second place in 2011.
"The Dawson Community College baseball team has been on a roll of late" said Head Baseball Coach Aaron Carroll. "We have won 7 of our last 9 games".
"Dawson Community College Buccaneer softball is sitting at 9 and 0 in the MonDak Conference" said Head Coach Jim LeProwse. DCC recently completed the first half of their MonDak conference schedule with a 6 game series with Bismarck State. The Lady Buccaneers won all 6 games over the past weekend. In Game 1 the Buccaneers won 17-0 in 5 innings and compiled 13 hits. Nicole Miller from Billings, MT, Remick Ramsey from Great Falls, MT, Julia Robinson from Butte, MT and Abby Gordon from Lewistown, MT all had 2 hits a piece. In game 2 the Bucs won 13-0 in five innings.
