Hello good alumni of Dawson Community College!
Today began at 8am at Traphagen Hall at MSU Bozeman. And, you guessed it, school isn't over for us! We started out with introductions... then a test.
We talked about our travel information, including communications, insurance, accommodations, the works... and safety and health information. DON'T DRINK THE WATER! Many little buggers floating around in there...
We then had basically a crash course in Ootaphonomy. The Oo stands for eggs. We were taught about individual and group roles, data collecting, attitude behavior, and a basic idea of dinosaur reproductive biology.
After we breaked for lunch, we went down to the basement and wrote down observations of a variety of fossilized egg shells, egg casts, and a Nile croc egg. A few slideshows later, and that wrapped up the first day of workshop!
For dinner, Frankie Jackson invited us over to her place for a BBQ. What fun that was! Looking forward to spending the next six weeks with new people.
Will write more in a bit!
