Aaron Carroll ~ NEW head baseball coach at DCC

Aaron Caroll accepts position as Buc baseball coach

Aaron Carroll will become head coach of the Buccaneer baseball program this fall. Coach Carroll brings ten years of baseball collegiate coaching experience to DCC. He spent the last seven years as head coach of Chowan University which is a NCAA Division II program in Murfreesboro, NC.

The Mon/Dak Conference selected these Dawson Community College players to The 2011 All Conference Team:

Williston, ND - The Buccaneers baseball team battled back from a 10-3 deficit in the third inning to beat Williston St. (ND) on the road. It was not a night for pitching for either team, as both offenses combined for 29 hits and 36 runs in the game. After trailing early in the game the buccaneers took a 17 -14 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, only to see it disappear with a three run homerun, tying the game 17-17.

DCC Baseball Improve To 9-3 In Mon-Dak Conference

Bismarck, ND - The Buccaneers baseball team traveled to Bismarck St. (ND) for a conference doubleheader. The Buccaneers won game one 8-2 and finished off the two game series with a 5-2 win in the second game.

Dawson Win Three out of Four Conference Games

Williston, ND - The Buccaneer baseball team looked to get back on track this past weekend April, 23-24 against Williston St. (ND) after dropping two conference games last weekend. They lost to Williston St. (ND) 4-2 and Miles Community College (MT) 3-1 in the Mon-Dak Mid Season Tournament in Glendive, MT. The Buccaneers fell to (16-10) (5-3).

Glendive, MT - In game three, sophomore Tanner Newman (Bozeman, MT) was the starting pitcher. Newman had suffered the loss just a week earlier against Williston St. He allowed no runs on one hit thru six innings before the Tetons got to him in the seventh inning and scored three runs. They would eventually handing him the loss. This time around Newman made sure he went the distance. Newman pitched 7 innings, complete game, allowing three runs on two hits.

In five games last week the DCC Freshman outfielder was 7-14 (.500) at the plate. His hitting included a double, a triple and a home run. Hedin also scored 6 runs and had three RBI's. His home town is Logan, Utah.

DCC Baseball Gets Two Conference Wins

Glendive, MT - The Buccaneers baseball team opened conference play with a double header on Sunday, April 10th against Bismarck State (ND). The Buccaneers won the first game 12-0, and continued to bring in the runs in game two with a 15-2 win.

In game one, Freshman Danny Smith (Tremonton, UT) pitched 4 shutout innings, allowing just two hits on the day.  Smith has now improved his record to 3-1 on the year with a 0.97 ERA in 21 2/3 innings pitched. Freshman Andy Hopson (Ogden, UT) pitched 1 inning in relief to finish the shutout.

Glendive, MT - The Buccaneers baseball team have now won nine out of their last ten games by beating Miles community College (MT) with a score of 5-3 for the second time this year. The buccaneers are now 9-7 on the year.
