The Dawson Community College Rodeo Team opened its spring season at the Montana State University Rodeo in Bozeman, MT. The team was in Bozeman April 8-11 for a double rodeo.

Dawson Community College is once again adding honor and memorial names to the hardwood floor of the Toepke Center Gymnasium. Names will be printed in 1 inch letters around the main court for a $200 per name donation. Honoring a friend or relative in this way is a unique tribute and a lasting legacy that lends support to all Buccaneer athletic programs.
Members of the Dawson Community College FFA/ AG Club will show off their muscles by offering themselves up for auction at the 2010 GATE Banquet Saturday, February 13th to be held at the EPEC. Banquet social hour starts at 6pm and dinner at 7pm.
Available for bid, 3 teams of two Agriculture students each and one single Agriculture student. Each team or single student is donating 8 hours of labor to the winning bidder. The clubs goal is to raise funds for additional educational opportunities in agriculture on the Dawson Community College campus.
Cole Burman, DCC alumnus, of Glendive recently had a couple of nice paydays after competing in the bull riding at the Sidney fair and the Glasgow fair.
At the Richland County Fair and Rodeo in Sidney, Burman scored a 79 on Spin Doctor to take top honors in the bull riding. Burman followed that performance up with a 2nd place finish in the bull riding at the Northeast Montana Fair and Rodeo in Glasgow. Burman claimed $1485.99 and $866 in prize money respectively at these two events.
Cody Buller, Dawson Community College alumnus, competed in his hometown rodeo in Glendive on Thursday then traveled to Baker to ride in the Fallon County Fair PRCA Rodeo. Buller finished third in the bull riding at the Dawson County Fair PRCA Rodeo with a score of 71 and followed that ride up with a score of 85 to win the bull riding in Baker.
Rayna Rice of Sidney again placed in the barrel racing. At the Dawson County rodeo, Rice had a time of 17.73, which was good enough to put her in fifth place.
Dawson Community College Rodeo Coach Rod Paschke has been selected the 2009 Big Sky Region Rodeo Coach of the Year. This year’s selection was made by the eight head coaches from the Big Sky and the Big Sky Regional Staff. Regional Director Del Nose, who is also the head rodeo coach at Northwest College in Powell, WY, commented that “Rod has done a great job with his rodeo teams and his rodeo.
The Dawson Community College Spring 2009 Horsemanship Clinic will be held April 18th and 19th at the J&A Arena from 8am to 4pm. Clinician, Pat Mitchell, of Pat Mitchell Performance Horses from Shepherd Montana will instruct. Pat focuses on finishing horses in Reining, Roping and Western Pleasure. He has worked with various breeds, creating light and responsive horses that move off aids freely and willingly. His horses have gone on to compete at many levels.
