Gerry Standridge
Gerry Standridge was a member of the University of Texas 1975 National Champion Baseball team. He has dedicated the past 8 years of his training to learn the most innovative and advanced skills, coaching strategies, offensive and defensive formations as well as a better understanding of the history of volleyball.
He was Rose Magers-Powell's assistant coach at Martin Methodist College in 2008 and 2009. He assisted her in recruitment, practices, camps and clinics. Rose Magers is a former starter for the 1984 USA Olympic Silver Medal Team and 9-year professional player in Japan. In 2007, she was voted as one of the “All-Time Greats of Women's Volleyball” by USA Volleyball.
He has assisted Ruth N. Nelson since 2004 in clinics, camps & lessons. Coach Nelson is a former U.S. National Team member and former Head coach at George Williams College, University of Houston, LSU and Iowa.
Coach Nelson has coached and trained numerous National and Olympic team players. One half of the starting lineup for the 1984 USA Olympic Team were her former college players who were Flo Hyman, Rose Magers & Rita Crockett.
Coach Standridge assisted with the USAV Delta Region High Performance Camp in Memphis, Tennessee as a guest trainer. He has coached the 12-18 age groups in junior club volleyball. He was an assistant coach to the 15 Blue Hurricane Team, which competed in the 2010 AAU Junior National Championships in Orlando, Florida. In addition, he is Impact & CAP Level I Certified and is working on his CAP Level II certification program.
