After volunteering around 500 hours in the month of October at various events like HarvestFest and Haunted Hollow, Montana Campus Corps is ready to host the 2nd Annual Bucky’s Turkey Trot! Last year, it consisted of a 1 mile run for children, and a 5k/10k run for adults wherein families could either donate canned goods for admission or pay in cash. In this manner, we raised food for the Dawson County Food Bank.
BUTTE, Mont. — Former Butte Central guard Taylure Svejkovsky (sheh-KAHV'-skee) has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Dawson Community College in Glendive.
Svejkovsky averaged just under 2 points per game as Central won the Class A state championship this winter and was a key contributor on defense, but she hadn't planned on playing basketball in college.
Svejkovsky tells The Montana Standard says she made up her mind late last month to join coach Tracey Clingingsmith's team.

The 2010-2011 Mon-Dak All-Conference basketball teams have been announced with several Dawson Community College men and women making the team. For the women, Emily O'Callaghan was selected to the first team, and Casey Grace was selected as a second team all-conference player. On the men's team, Andy Hopson was voted as second team all-conference with Mario Bury earning an honorable mention spot. Congratulations to all Buccaneer players on a great regular season as they head into Region IX tournament play.
On Sunday February 20th, the last home game of the year against the Bottineau Lumberjacks took place. Both DCC basketball teams had beaten the Jacks away but hadn't seen them sense the start of the year.
The women's basketball teams played first and it was a battle right from the beginning. The Lady Bucs trailed most of the game but in the last 8 minutes of the second half the teams were tied. There was 30 seconds left in the game and the score was tied with the Buccaneers having the ball.
DCC basketball teams met their rivals, the Pioneers, for one last opportunity to play this season. The women's game started off tight. Two points for the Lady Bucs were counteracted with two points by the Pioneers.
