DCC Registrar Virginia Berube has released the names of students who have earned a place on the Dawson Community College Dean's List during the fall semester of 2010. These students distinguished themselves academically by attaining a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

College Goal Montana

College Goal Montana is dedicated to guiding students and their families through the paperwork required to apply for financial aid. College Goal Montana is for all families who want assistance in completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. Dawson Community College Financial aid officers and other qualified professionals volunteer their time to ensure students receive assistance in understanding and completing the paperwork necessary to receive financial aid.

Dawson Community College Board of Trustees are community leaders who desire to provide students with the academic skills needed to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, to enhance skills to be competitive in the rapidly changing job market, and to offer opportunities for continuing education, personal growth and enrichment. As a team, they are fully engaged in providing a future that offers increased higher education opportunities for Dawson County residents.

Adjunct instructors are being assembled by Dawson Community College for the next academic year. Individuals holding an appropriate Master’s degree from an accredited college who are interested in teaching courses within various transfer programs offered at DCC are welcome to apply.

Nevada Professor on Campus for Accreditation Visit

Dr. Doris Dwyer

Dr. Doris Dwyer, Western Nevada College, will be on campus Monday, October 25 to conduct a one day visit for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). She will meet with students, faculty, staff, board members and administration to evaluate our implementation of the 2009 Commission recommendations.

11th Annual Shaping the Future Conference

The Friday workshop given by Dr. Walter C. Fleming will emphasize Indian Education for All.

The 11th Annual Shaping the Future Conference will be held April 9-10, 2010 at Dawson Community College. The workshop is sponsored by the Early Childhood Education Department at DCC, the Glendive Public Schools, DEAP Resource and Referral and Prairie View Special Services. Volleyball 2nd in the Nation for academic excellence

DCC women's volleyball team

Joyce Ayre Dawson Community College Athletic Director is proud to announce the Women’s Buccaneer Volleyball team has been recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as second in the nation for academic excellence.

DCC Women’s Volleyball Head Coach, John Marble, is excited and not completely surprised by the honor. “Academics have always been a focus of this program, we believe that you can be successful in the classroom and on the court. This is a huge honor and it validates the attitudes and efforts of the players.”

DCC creates a unified digital campus

Dr. James A. Cargill, President, Dawson Community College signs agreement to integrate DCC's information system.

On December 21, 2009, Officials from Sungard Higher education met with President Jim Cargill of Dawson Community College and President Stefani Hicswa of Miles City Community College to sign agreements which will bring Banner Integrated Information System on to the community College campuses in eastern Montana. The Montana University System is underwriting the approximately 1.7 million dollar cost of this project. Currently over 800 colleges nationwide are using the system, including the University of Montana and Montana State University.
