The Dawson College Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Keith P. Guelff Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Dawson Community College. Through a generous donation of $40,000 by Keith and Andrea Huschka and Precision Machine & Welding, the fund honors the late friend and mentor who had a positive and lasting impact on Keith Huschka's life and career. The Huschka's live in Glendive, MT and Dickinson, ND.
Northwest Farm Credit Services announced that its Rural Community Grant Program is funding $1500 to the Dawson College Foundation in support of the Dawson Community College Walking Track Resurfacing Project. Gill Gasper, Credit Officer for Northwest Farm Credit Services in Sidney, presented the check to Joyce Ayre, Dawson Community College Athletic Director. Northwest Farm Credit Services is committed to improving the economic and social well-being of rural communities throughout the Northwest. The walking track project will provide a cushioned surface to prevent injuries
Stockman Bank is proud to contribute $5,000 to the Dawson College Foundation for a new walking track surface at Dawson Community College. The cushioned surface for the walking track is to be completed in the spring of 2011. Campus fitness facilities, which include the walking track, are available for community use in the newly constructed Toepke Center at Dawson Community College. The 4100 square foot walking track on the mezzanine is free and open to the public seven days a week.

The Dawson College Foundation is pleased to announce the endowment of the James D. Schultz Memorial Endowed Scholarship fund. The scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of James (Jim) Schultz to provide financial assistance to Dawson Community College students pursuing a secondary school teaching career, preferably in English or a related field.
Dawson Community College's 2009 Buccaneer Gala will commence at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24th, 2009 on campus in the Toepke Center. An exciting evening of fun will include a social, a gourmet dinner, silent auction, a live auction with Rick Kniepkamp, and music and dancing to “The Xperts”. The Buccaneer Gala dinner menu includes a selection of appetizers, fresh mixed green salad, an entrée featuring stuffed sirloin steak accompanied by twice-baked potatoes and grilled vegetables, followed by delectable desserts.
The first Senior Academy class hosted through Dawson Community College met with success September 22nd and 23rd at the Glendive Senior Center. The Academy was begun at the request of local seniors who participated in focus groups and surveys given by Dawson Community College as a way of developing classes to meet their unique needs and interests. The inaugural class in the “Tech Time for Seniors” series was Basic Cell Phone Operation and filled quickly.

Experience mystery and the macabre at Dawson Community College as we host the Montana Repertory Theater Fall 2009 Educational Outreach Tour! The Poe Project theater performance begins at 6:30pm Friday, September 25th - Toepke Center. In this 50-minute production, Edgar Allan Poe struggles to invent a detective story in this fascinating look at the author’s macabre world. Dawson Community College and their educational partner the Montana Repertory Theater invite the community to enjoy this free event.
