Research and Creativity Celebration

Celebration of Research and Creativity is the theme for the Dawson Community College Music Department Thursday, May 1. The evening will commence at 5 pm in the Toepke Center lobby with a reception highlighting student research projects and performances by DCC music students.  Presenters will be on tap to discuss their projects, ranging from Opera Education through Cartoons to The Use of Secondary Dominants in Barbershop Quartets.

Tickets on Sale for the Twenty-First Annual Madrigal Dinner

Tickets for the twenty-first annual Dawson Community College Madrigal Dinner are on sale now at the DCC business office. The Madrigal Dinner will be held in the Toepke Center Lobby on December 7. Transformed into the Renaissance castle, doors open at 5:30 p.m. with feasting and festivities commencing at 6. Characters will delight castle guests with vocal and instrumental music, jesters, jugglers, actors, and dancers. Time honored processions featuring Wassail, Boar’s Head, and Flaming Pudding transport the audience throughout the evening.

DCC Music Department Fall Fundraiser

DCC music department students are currently selling pottery mugs with your choice of DCC, DCC Alumni, DCC Mom or DCC Dad inscription. The hand thrown pottery mugs are created by alumnus, Amanda Heimbuch. In addition, the department continues their yearly Sturgis Coffee sales and Hansen’s beef sticks, cheese, soup mix and much more. Alumnus Emily Prouty gives recital at MSU-B

Emily Prouty was involved with the band, choir, and drum line programs at DCC.

Emily Prouty, trumpet, will be giving her senior recital in fulfillment of the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Music Education on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 7:30 pm in Cisel Hall on the University campus.

Dawson Idol May 4 ~ Seeking Contestants

The Opus Society is currently seeking contestants for Dawson Idol to be held May 4, 6 p.m. in the Dawson Community College Auditorium. In its fifth year, this event promises to present some of the best vocal talent in eastern Montana. Title of Dawson Idol will be determined by an average of audience and judge scores.

College Music Club to Host Open Mic Night

Dessert, coffee and live music.  Musicians of all genres are invited to display their craft in open mic forum, as the Dawson Community College Music Club hosts an evening of open mic entertainment with delectable Sturgis coffee and desserts November 2 at 5:30 pm in the Toepke Center.

Just Dance is an old fashioned evening of dancing and music for the entire family. Learn new dance steps or brush up on your dance moves, Deb Mooer and the DCC music department are collaborating to present Just Dance!

Ms. Mooer will teach two versatile steps to get dancers of all ages on the floor May 4 at 7 pm in the DCC Toepke Center. Her vast teaching experience and positive, enthusiastic attitude guarantee an enjoyable evening for everyone.

Ms. Mooer will teach two versatile steps to get dancers of all ages on the floor May 4 at 7 p.m. in the DCC Toepke Center. Her vast teaching experience and positive, enthusiastic attitude guarantee an enjoyable evening for everyone. Live music will be provided by DCC music students and refreshments served by the Opus Society. The evening is free of charge.
