POSITION: Athletic Director / .50 FTE

SUMMARY OF WORK:
The Athletic Director provides oversight and management of DCC Athletic Programs while adhering to policies and regulations of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA), DCC, and the Board of Regents. The Director reports directly to the Dean of Student Services. This position requires the ability to plan, promote, fund-raise, manage the budget; supervise team recruitment, game and practice scheduling; game day officials, contest preparation, fostering and monitoring student-athletes success in academics, athletics and community affairs.
Nature of Work: This position performs duties which require attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness. Position works mainly within the athletic department. Position must adhere to standards of confidentiality of information and documentation.
Essential Functions: This position requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing, read written material, adhere to written policies and procedures, prioritize daily work responsibilities, coordinate schedules, conduct & attend meetings, maintain records and prepare and produce reports.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications: and experience: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with previous experience in teaching and/or coaching students at the collegiate level; Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited institution; experience coaching at a community college or higher level; collegiate experience monitoring an athletic department or program.
