EVALUATION OF TENURED FACULTY

The purpose of any evaluation is professional development. In order to assure an effective and meaningful tenured faculty evaluation process, the Dean of Instructional Services will formalize the evaluation following the completion of the listed activities.

The evaluation will include four components. An official form will be provided by the Dean of Instructional Services.

PART I: STUDENT EVALUATIONS Student evaluations will be conducted on an annual basis in one course per semester or an alternate plan selected by the administration.

PART II: SELF EVALUATIONS This is an opportunity for the faculty member to describe the new methods or courses that have been designed and implemented since the last evaluation. It is also appropriate to list new goals for the next three-year period in a professional development plan.

PART III: (SELECT ONE)
1. Peer class visitors remarks
2. Personal growth efforts
3. Community service involvement
4. A miniature portfolio
5. Classroom observation by the Dean of Instructional Services
6. An approved alternative The results of Parts I-III should be written into a brief report,
   including reference to progress since the last evaluation and goals for future
   professional development.

PART IV: EVALUATION CONFERENCE
After the final report has been completed, an evaluation conference with the Dean of Instructional Services will take place. During this conference, a professional

development plan for the faculty will be developed and put into writing as soon as possible after the conference.
