Position Description:
This position reports to the chair of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. This position will:

  • Prepare, deliver and assess instructional materials designed to meet the goals and learning objectives of the AAS Gas and Diesel Technology degree in a lecture format;
  • Prepare, deliver and assess instruction designed to meet the goals and learning objectives of the program in laboratory sessions;
  • As Program Director: conduct program reviews, advise all program majors, maintain an active advisory committee, and provide leadership and assistance in recruitment, retention, and job placement of program students;
  • Provide a student-centered approach to teaching and learning;
  • Demonstrate and teach principles of safety in the industry;
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and students
  • Participate in community and regional events that promote the growth and depth of program;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by either the Division Director or Administration, where necessary to the operation and welfare of the College.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in Ag Mechanics, Gas and Diesel Technology with documented, successful work experience in the industry equivalent to five years
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and public communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
All of the minimum qualifications plus the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanics or related field.
  • 3-5 years teaching experience in a field related to gas and diesel technology.
  • Experience with gas and diesel power and machinery and farm experience.
  • Currency in industry standards for shop safety.
  • Educational philosophy in alignment with the mission of the College.
  • Ability to teach adults in a community college setting.
