My name is Jerry Vincent Nix (you may call me Vince) and I am excited to be working with all y'all as I bring several years of practical experience in personal and professional development, retention, engagement, assessment, cross-functional project management, collaborative leadership, and global human resource development along with teaching experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Leadership, Strategic Management, and Career Management.
For the past eight years I have focused on developing adult-learners and non-traditional students for college and career successes.
Since May 2011 I've been at Idaho State University (ISU), first developing a pilot-project that focused on transition and retention of GED students. I turned that project over to others on Jun 29, 2013. I served as visiting Assistant Professor of Organizational Learning & Performance at ISU until I joined the DCC team in May 2014.
Previously I’ve worked for the University of Mississippi and Washington State University where I studied Japanese language and Chinese business and culture. I was an HR manager for a Japanese manufacturer. For six years I served in several roles in China while completing research for my dissertation on Sino-U.S. trade. My undergraduate major and my PhD cognate were focused on sociology; I generally examine and resolve issues from a radical sociologist's perspective.
I am an avid Techie. I use Linux, and I am active on social media. I am married to Misty Song; we do not have children.
