The internship will provide an excellent opportunity to be involved in national policy within the context of a rural, community focused organization. It will be an opportunity to learn about community organizing, advocacy, and research. Our current priorities are our Campaign for Clean Energy and Responsible Development, which seeks responsible development in the oil and gas, coal, and uranium industries, and promotes the sustainable production and use of renewable energy; and our Farm to Market Sustainability Project, which seeks safe food policies, economic justice in agricultural markets, promotes local food policies, and opposes animal factories.
The intern will support WORC's program activities. The primary focus will be researching and writing on energy, clean energy, and local foods. Other responsibilities will include writing and editing fact sheets, action alerts and assisting with other publications and work as necessary.
The intern will receive an hourly stipend and can build a flexible schedule. We are interested in at least a three month internship ($3,000) and are particularly interested in a summer position.
