Qualifications: 
REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: · High School Diploma or equivalent. · Must have or be able to obtain a valid Montana Driver’s License and a Class A Commercial Driver License for the operation of heavy trucks and commercial vehicles or equipment. · Must be able to be trained in cable splicing of underground copper and aerial, fiber and coaxial cables; installation and maintenance of single line telephone equipment and CATV premise wiring is preferred. · Must be able to be trained to operate construction equipment and perform construction duties. · Computer skills preferred. · Must be able to be trained to install, splice and maintain fiber, buried, aerial and or coax cable from customer premise to central office. This includes but is not limited to inside customer wiring, installation of demarcation points and central office wiring and splicing. · Ability to interpret splicing and OSP layout maps is desirable. · Works with experienced technicians to install and repair basic premise telecommunications equipment, install and repair premise wiring, cabling terminals, protection and subscriber carrier devices, Install and repair aerial and underground CATV trunking and distribution cabling systems and cable splicing functions, · Ability to learn and adapt to technology and training as required on an on-going basis and have neat and orderly work habits. · Must have the ability to perform routine buildings, grounds, and janitorial maintenance relative to the operation of the cooperative. · Must have the ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on the construction equipment and company vehicles. · Must have the ability to work cooperatively with member/subscribers, fellow employees and others, and to work under adverse conditions. Work under supervision of the Construction and Facilities Supervisor or District Supervisor. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting: 1-3 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to walking and standing. Standing: 1-4 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to walking. Walking: 1-4 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates occasionally to standing. Lifting: Up to 100 pounds. Miscellaneous: Dexterity and vision necessary to operate construction equipment and computer. Must be able to climb communications facilities as required. Must be able to distinguish cable color codes.
