Terracon Geotechnique is an independent, Canadian consulting firm, wholly owned by its management staff. Established in 1978, the firm diversified and reorganized under the name Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. in 1983. The firm primarily serves the mining industry and the Athabasca Oils Sands region from its administrative office in Calgary and office, soils and concrete laboratory in Fort McMurray.

Terracon is currently seeking candidates for a Civil Technologist

Civil Technologist Role

The work schedule includes a rotational schedule of days and nights; 10- 12 hour days.

• Soils engineering and soils testing
• Drill monitoring and construction monitoring
• QA/QC monitoring techniques
• Piling inspections
• Site investigations and concrete testing.

Working Conditions
• Field environment
• Driving on mine roads
• Rotational schedule of being on-call
• Working outdoors
• Valid driver’s license
• Operating an All Terrain Vehicle

• Experience with Microsoft applications • Flexible and strong team playing skills • CSA certification is an asset • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Experience in the oil sands Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada Why Work for Terracon Geotechnique? Qualifications • Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited Canadian school
- $950 living allowance/ month - full health and medical benefits -$1500 health spending account -health and wellness allowance/ year
