The Program Instructor is primarily responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering varied, exciting, and engaging activities and programs for participating youth ages 5-11. In fulfilling this basic responsibility, the Program Instructor must:
Ensure that all programs, activities, and educational opportunities are meaningful, age-appropriate, accessible, and respectful with regard to gender, race, cultural background, or socioeconomic status.
Incorporate the underlying youth development strategy and principles developed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America into all programs, activities, and educational opportunities.
Ensure that all programs, activities, and educational opportunities take into consideration the stages of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development for each age range.
Provide positive guidance and necessary discipline to members to ensure a safe and positive environment.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Fundamental knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs of America programming methods, principles, and strategies preferred.
Ability to teach and counsel youth.
Ability to plan and schedule activities, and maintain that schedule.
Good interpersonal communications skills, especially in dealing with youth.
Ability to accept responsibility and act independently in directing programs.
Ability to quickly adjust program plans, activities and schedules to accommodate unanticipated changes or obstacles.
Ability to make decisions, set and meet goals, and effectively manage crisis situations.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
Experience in planning, organizing, directing and playing various activities for youth required.
700 Little Street Glendive Montana
$8 per hour/pay by the month
M-F 2:00 -6:00 pm (will work with college schedules to a point)
