Dawson Community College has signed a third new volleyball player for the fall season.
Coach John Marble announced this week that Amanda Little, a 5-10 hitter for the Yellowstone County Homeschool Knights and Rimrock Volleyball Club, has committed to the Lady Buccaneer team.
Little has experience in several positions on the court, but anticipates playing outside for the Bucs. She said she is happy to have the opportunity to play college ball.
“I love the game of volleyball,” she said. “I am looking forward to playing for the Buccaneers and for Coach Marble.”
Little received all-state honors from the Montana Christian Athletic Association both in 2007 and 2008 and in 2008, was named all-tournament second team for the MCAA.
She served as co-captain for the Knights last fall and received the 2008 Coach’s Award for her performance in the Rimrock Volleyball Club.
Marble said he looks forward to Little’s presence in the gym.
“Amanda has the potential to be a significant contributor in the years to come,” Marble said. “She is a hard worker that will bring a great work-ethic to the gym and make everyone better.”
Little joins Hardin senior Kirby Sabec and Cascade County senior Amanda Krone on the list of new recruits for the fall. Sabec is a 6-3 middle hitter and Krone a 5-3 setter.
Marble continues to work on recruiting, adding to the roster of just three returners from last year’s team.
Setter Terah Lund and hitters Amanda Shadbolt and Melissa Yarbrough all are expected to return to the team this fall.
Tryouts are set for Feb. 9, the same day as the DCC Campus View Day.
