An all-state blocker from Sidney High School has signed on to play volleyball this fall for Dawson Community College.
Kirsten Nunn, who graduated from Lambert High School after transferring mid-way through her senior year in 2008, has experience both as a middle and right side hitter and said she expects to play right side for the Lady Buccaneers.
She said she is excited to join the team. “I want to play for Dawson as a way to help pay for school and for the love of the game,” she said.
Coach John Marble said he looks forward to seeing what the 6-foot Nunn will bring to the court.
"She is a big physical player that will add both experience and size to our front row,” he said.
Nunn joins Garfield County District High School Senior Alyson Murnion, Yellowstone County Senior Amanda Little, Hardin Senior Kirby Sabec and Cascade County Senior Amanda Krone on the list of new recruits for the Bucs.
They all join returners Amanda Shadbolt and Terah Lund on the team.
This fall will mark the second season for Buccaneer volleyball; the team finished its last season with the nation’s number one ace server, Canadian Ruth Johnson, who has verbally committed to continue her collegiate volleyball career at Northern Michigan University.
Both Shadbolt and Lund spent time on the National Junior College Athletic Association’s national rankings, Shadbolt for service aces and Lund for assists.
