This Spring semester, make it a point to study in the ASC computer lab at least 5 times. Why? Because there will be 5 consecutive art exhibits you’ll want to see.
Not everybody realizes that DCC has an art gallery, but the word is getting out. The computer lab and Gallery 126 are in the same place. The name Gallery 126 is an homage to photographer, Alfred Stieglitz‘s Gallery 291 which opened in New York City in 1905. Gallery 291 was the first in the United States to display the artwork of Rodin, Matisse, and Cezanne. He also introduced the American public to such artists as Picasso and O’Keefe.
The art gallery enhances the pleasant atmosphere of the computer lab and makes it an interesting place to pick up energizing study vibes. Right now, Sheila Rieman’s nature pastels are on exhibit. During February, the artwork of DCC art instructor, Gretchen Bederman and Bismarck artist Ali LaRock will be on display. Followed by Jerry David Cornelia of Sidney in March, DCC art students through April 24th, ending the season with photographs by Amanda Breitbach of Glendive through June.
The DCC Art Gallery is conveniently located in the room 126 Computer Lab inside the DCC Jane Carey Memorial Library foyer next to the DCC Academic Support Center.
