On Nov. 20 and 21 many former women’s basketball players returned to Dawson Community College to challenge the current team. This year’s team took it to the alumni, the Coca-Cola All-Stars, winning both games, 92-37 and 75-51.
In Friday night’s game, the Bucs’ Tia Emerson led all scorers with 27 including eight 3-pointers. Brittney Ceaser put in 19, while Juliane Faltus added 15. Also in double figures was Krista Williams with 10. Michelle (Mooer) Palmer was the top point getter for the Coca-Cola All-Stars with 11. She had the alumni’s only 3-point make. Nikki (Reddig) Doolan followed closely with 10 points. Francine Kill Eagle had 3 blocked shots against the Women Buccaneers.
On Saturday, the alumni kept the game closer and were only outscored by eight in the second half. Nikki Doolan and Palmer both had 12 points to lead the All-Stars. Katie Kniepkamp was also in double figures with 11. Alisa Doolan, a Miles City Pioneer Alumni, had three blocked shots in this contest. The Buccaneers top scorer was once again Emerson, this time with 23. She had five three pointers go in. Ceaser added 15 and Faltus put in 12.
