State approved Nurse Assistant Training begins Monday January 25th and continues thru February 16th. Classes will be held at the Glendive Medical Center in the CNA Classroom, Extended Care Facility - 202 Prospect in conjunction with Dawson Community College.
The course is geared to provide the participant with the skills to be able to perform satisfactorily as an entry level nursing assistant primarily in a long term care facility. The method for reaching that goal combines both a strong technical and theoretical background as well as an opportunity for experience in a supervised clinical environment. Successful completion of the training will satisfy requirements for Medicaid Certification.
The course will be taught by Instructor Donna Knuths, RN at a cost of $70. Students are expected to have assignments read before each class session and come to class with book and writing materials. Upon completion of course HL 113 participants will earn 4 college credits for 80 hrs of study. The book for this course is available at the DCC Bookstore. Call 377-9457 for current price information.
Payment of fees must be made through the DCC Business Office (there is limited enrollment). The fee for the training does NOT include the cost of the certification test, this is administered under the auspices of Headmaster, Inc., Helena and the local long-term care facility.
