Ag Club Students show muscle

Members of the Dawson Community College FFA/ AG Club will show off their muscles by offering themselves up for auction at the 2010 GATE Banquet Saturday, February 13th to be held at the EPEC. Banquet social hour starts at 6pm and dinner at 7pm.

Available for bid, 3 teams of two Agriculture students each and one single Agriculture student. Each team or single student is donating 8 hours of labor to the winning bidder. The clubs goal is to raise funds for additional educational opportunities in agriculture on the Dawson Community College campus.

“DCC AG club students are showing their passion for agriculture by giving their time and talent.” said Leanne K. Hoagland, Agribusiness Technology & Equitation Instructor/ Program Director. “I am proud of my students for taking such an active role and contributing to the college in this way. Thank you in advance for supporting our students”.

Team one: Denise Koenig and Trish Schuieder

Denise is from Baker and grew up on a family farm. She is in her sophomore year as an Agri Business major.

Trish came to DCC from North Dakota and will graduate this spring with her degree in Agri Business.

Team two: Austin Visser, Ag Club Vice President and Brad Krogedal Ag Club President

Austin is from Jamestown, North Dakota and is a second year student majoring in Livestock Technology. Last year he earned his welding certificate from DCC. He is a member of the DCC Rodeo Team and is active in calf roping, steer wrestling, and team roping events. “Brad and I would be happy to be part of your branding crew” said Visser.

Brad grew up in Friod Mt on a farm and ranch where he gained practical knowledge working for local ranchers. Brad is an Agri Business major and senator in the DCC Associated Student Body as well as Ag Club President.

Team three: Shawn Hanley and Ethan Gustad

Shawn comes from Roundup Mt where he worked for ranchers and farmers. He is an Agri Business major and member of the DCC Rodeo Team. Shawn competes in saddle bronc and steer wrestling.

Ethan grew up in Miles City where he worked for local farmers. He is an Agri Business major and member of the DCC Rodeo Team. “I ride bulls, there is no other rush like it” said Gustad.

Lone Wolf: Jeremy Tihista

Undeterred as a team of one Jeremy is ready to meet the challenge. He grew up on his family farm in Nashua and has worked on many other ranches as well. “I have done just about every type of ranch or farm job there is” he said. Jeremy is working toward his Agri Business degree.
