Dawson Community College is presenting a hybrid business skills class entitled ‘Graphics in MS Word & Newsletters’ from March 16th to April 5th. Marcia Holas, DCC Business Technology Program Director, will instruct the one credit class. Unique to this opportunity is that students will attend each classroom presentation at their personal computer via the Internet. To increase flexibility Holas will offer students two choices, Tuesdays at noon or Thursdays at 7pm to receive live instruction. No on campus time is required as the instructor will send the class from campus to your computer.
Newsletters can be used to promote a business or organization, or to send to family and friends. “My ‘Graphics in MS Word & Newsletters’ course is three-weeks” said Holas. “During that time the student will acquire essential skills allowing them to create professional-looking newsletters, letterhead, brochures and business cards using the many features of Microsoft Word. They will learn to format a newsletter into multiple columns, add graphics and clipart, and insert text boxes”.
Four lesson presentations will be available each week. Students will be required to attend two of the lessons at the scheduled class time and complete projects outside of classroom. All class presentations will be recorded and available for review. Projects and assignments will be emailed to the instructor.
The Dawson Community College computer labs and library offer public access for any student. Most communities have a public library that would provide access for students interested in completing this course.
