Senior Academy-Computer Basics in February

R&SVP volunteers are currently preparing tax returns for the 2009 Tax year. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the R&SVP office at 377-4716.

The Senior Academy affiliated with Dawson Community College is offering a Computer Basics class that will be taught by Doug Dubin on February 23, 24, and 25 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the center. The cost of the class will be $15.00. Students will be able to identify the parts of the computer as well as how to navigate through the operating system and be able to utilize peripherals. Students will also develop a beginning understanding of email and the internet. For more information or to reserve your spot call MaryAnn at 377-3396 ext.9404.

Thank you to Lois Sadorf for taking blood pressures for us last Monday. A retired nurse will check pressures on Monday, Feb. 8th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Everyone enjoyed the birthday cake and ice cream that the Big Sky Investment Center furnished for the birthday social. Thank you so much Robin and Jim.

Happy birthday was sung to June Chapman and Gil Kaul who have birthday’s this month.

The winners of the pinochle tournament held on Friday, Jan 29th were: first place-Martha McCloy & Iva Waldo; second place-Lois Hansen & Kay Arellano; third place-Faye Scheitlin & Al Durand; and fourth place-Clarence & Betty Heinrich.

Congratulations to the winners this week: bridge-Kent Wangsness; pinochle-Velma Kinsey; whist Velma Kinsey; cribbage-Faye Scheitlin; and pinochle-Christine Frenzel.

The activities planned for the week of Feb. 8th-12th are: Mon-exercise 9 am, cards/blood pressures 1 pm; Tues-whist 1 pm; Wed-exercise 9 am, R&SVP Kitchen Band @ 12:30 p.m., cribbage 1 pm; Thurs-bridge lessons 9:30 am, pinochle 1 pm; Fri-exercise 9 am, pinochle tournament 1 pm.

Next week’s menu: Mon-hamburger steak & onions; Tues-chicken strips or legs; Wed-meatloaf; Thurs-roast beef; Fri-hamburger filet mignon.
