Joyce Ayre Dawson Community College Athletic Director is proud to announce the Women’s Buccaneer Volleyball team has been recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as second in the nation for academic excellence.

DCC Women’s Volleyball Head Coach, John Marble, is excited and not completely surprised by the honor. “Academics have always been a focus of this program, we believe that you can be successful in the classroom and on the court. This is a huge honor and it validates the attitudes and efforts of the players.”

The minimum grade point average requirement for consideration is a team GPA of 3.00. Of 302 teams nationally, only 57 teams achieved the minimum standard of a 3.00 GPA for recognition. DCC is ranked 2nd overall with a team GPA of 3.68.

“I am incredibly proud of the team – they worked very hard in the classroom as well as in the gym.” said Marble.

Women’s volleyball roster includes: Terah Lund - Huntley, MT, Kirby Sabec - Hardin, Mt, Amanda Shadbolt - Humboldt, SK, Amanda Krone - Great Falls, MT, Amanda Little - Billings, MT, Megan Young - Catoosa, OK, Myriam Lebied-Julien - Riom, France, Ashley Eslinger - Roundup, MT, Ariel Johnson Kalispell, MT and Janelle Sheeran, Kalispell, MT.
