Brent Diegel, Head Coach of the Dawson Community College baseball program, has announced the signing of student athlete Jesse Gullion, a third baseman from Brigham City, Utah. The 6-4, 190 pound third baseman throws right-handed and bats lefty. As a junior in 2009, Gullion led his high school team, the Box Elder Bees, in hits, RBI, and doubles. He batted a robust .410 with 43 hits, 5 homeruns, 20 Doubles, and posted a .460 On Base Percentage. In 2009 Gullion’s excellent stats earned him baseball honors, including Second Team All-Area recognition and a place on the All-Tournament team in the annual Dixie Sunshine Tournament at Dixie High School in St. George, Utah. Jesse will join current Box Elder teammate Hunter Balmer and former teammate and current DCC Buccaneer Bobby King on the roster next season.
Gullion's commitment to education is as evident as his talent on the diamond, as he is an honor roll student and peer tutor at Box Elder High School. He will major in business at Dawson Community College. He is looking forward to beginning his college education at DCC and contributing both in the classroom and on the baseball field.
