The Dawson College Foundation is pleased to announce the endowment of the James D. Schultz Memorial Endowed Scholarship fund. The scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of James (Jim) Schultz to provide financial assistance to Dawson Community College students pursuing a secondary school teaching career, preferably in English or a related field.
Mr. Schultz was a devoted and beloved teacher throughout his entire professional career, first as a secondary English teacher starting in Glendive in 1966. Three years later, he taught in Polson, MT for five years and returned to teach briefly at Dawson County High School before beginning his college teaching career at Dawson Community College. Schultz retired from DCC in 2007 and passed away in 2009.
Because the scholarship is endowed, the principle will remain in place in perpetuity while only the earnings will be available for student awards. During his lifetime, Jim Schultz touched hundreds of students' lives and their families. Through this scholarship, his memory will continue to help students achieve their educational dreams. Contributions to the fund can be made to: The James D. Schultz Memorial Scholarship, c/o The Dawson College Foundation, 300 College Drive, Glendive, MT 59930
