DCC basketball teams met their rivals, the Pioneers, for one last opportunity to play this season. The women's game started off tight. Two points for the Lady Bucs were counteracted with two points by the Pioneers.
It went back and forth for most of the first half. The Lady Bucs went into the locker room at halftime down by 6. Coach Clingingsmith came in and reviewed the stats and told her team "keep them off the boards and to continue playing hard defense". The players then ran back out on the court to try and finally crush Miles City's perfect record at home and gain a W for the Buccaneers.
As the second half ticked away the DCC women's team couldn't stop MCC's number 32. After she pulled down quite a few offensive boards it began to seem as though DCC played most of the second half on defense. As time dwindle away the Bucs began to realize they weren't going to be able to pull away with a win.
The 50-68 loss for the Lady Bucs was hard but each teammate played well for parts of the game. The Lady Bucs held their heads high knowing that most of them would get the chance to meet MCC again next year, hopefully to redeem ourselves and come out on top of the rivalry game.
