Chariots of the Gods

Dawson Community College is pleased to have the artwork of one of its favorite artists, Michael Meissner, on exhibit for the third time. Please come by the Ullman Center to enjoy his latest imaginative surreal images during regular building hours Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Michael has family roots in eastern Montana that reach back five generations. He was raised in both eastern and western Montana. He currently makes his home in Glendive, Montana, along the Yellowstone river and adjacent to the spectacular and rugged Montana badlands of Makoshika State Park.

His great-great grandfathers Adam Rasley and Charles Crockett are both buried atop a lonely hillside in Bloomfield, Montana, a nearly forgotten homestead community on the plains of eastern Montana. Many of his other ancestors found their homes in Glendive, Miles City, Circle, Richey and Forsyth, Montana.

End of Innocence by Michael Meissner

Michael has worked extensively in pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, oils and acrylics in various styles over the years. His work has featured surrealistic themes, as well as landscapes, wildlife scenes, and mixed media articles. In more recent years he has settled into developing scenic western, native American and wildlife art themes using oil and acrylics on canvas, antique articles and tanned animal hides, as well as large scale 3D fiberglass models for public displays.

He also develops computer/web graphics and graphical artwork, including website layout and design, technical illustrations and business logos. As part of the services offered as a graphical/commercial artist, Michael also provides imprinting of his artwork onto promotional and gift items.

His original artwork has been displayed for sale across Montana and in western North Dakota, and can be found in private collections throughout the United States and abroad. A number of his works have been sold to individuals in Germany, Norway, Greece and Japan.

He is also affiliated with a number of regional Montana, national and international artist and art related sites. See Michael's website to learn more. http://www.runningbearartwork.com
