On Monday, April 18th at 3:30 p.m. there will be a reception to commemorate the unveiling of three wonderful paintings created by the DCC Art Club to enhance the décor of the Dawson Community College Student Center and Cafeteria. Please join us for viewing, socializing and refreshments. This event is sponsored by the ASB senate.
The DCC Art Club has spent nearly every Saturday this entire school year working away in their underground studio designing and painting three 4’ x 6’ canvases celebrating Dawson Community College school spirit. As their teacher and advisor, I am extremely proud of their accomplishment and commend them on their fine art work. Everyone in the Art Club got involved with the collaboration lending moral support and ideas. In this area special thanks goes to Lea Hoskins, Derrek Ingledue, Cass Damm, Tiffannie Dubin, Anthony Lopez and Louis Herman. There were many participating painters including Jo-Eun Kang, Alissa Wynne, Erin Johnson, Cass Damm, Peggy Elhard, Jenna Brucker and Tonya Wetherelt. Special recognition goes to Jo-Eun Kang and Alissa Wynne who were the leading contributors and never missed a Saturday working long hours attending to every detail. Good job Art Club.
The Art Club would not have been able to achieve their goal had it not been for the support of Diane Dohrmann, Dean of Student Services, who helped us with her vision, encouragement, unerring confidence and monetary contribution. Thank you Diane.
We would, also, like to thank the ASB senate for their, at first reluctant, but eventually enthusiastic support for the DCC Art Club painting project.
