The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced the 2010-11 Academic Student-Athlete Awards as well as the 2010-2011 NJCAA All-Academic Teams. The 2010-2011 season marks the 28th year the NJCAA has recognized the success of its student-athletes in the classroom. With minimal changes the NJCAA program has been in place since 1983.


Dawson Community is proud to announce that both the College Softball and Volleyball teams have placed as 2010-11 All Academic Teams. The team average for volleyball was 3.39 and for softball was 3.0. In addition two softball athletes were named Athletes of Distinction: Carle Diede, from Glendive Montana, was cited for Exemplary Academic Achievement with a 3.67 grade point and Allison Roper, from Victoria BC, was named for Superior Academic Achievement. She earned a 3.97 grade point average.
