Tradition will be the theme for the 20th Annual Dawson Community College Madrigal Dinner. Old favorites, as well as new traditions will await guests December 3 at Toepke Center on the DCC campus. The castle doors open at 5 p.m. to a Renaissance Fair of local crafters and vendors with feasting and festivities commencing at 6.
Transformed into a Renaissance castle, the Toepke Center becomes the backdrop to a feast for eyes and ears fit for a king. Traditional and contemporary music await castle guests as vocal and instrumental performers, jesters, jugglers, actors, and dancers provide the Lord of the Manner and his court an evening of enjoyment. Time honored processions featuring Wassail, Boar's Head, and Flaming Pudding transport the audience through the evening. Guided by the Jester and Merton, Lord of Misrule, each guest will play a role in their given kingdom. Those wishing to dress in costume are invited to do so.
Students from Glendive, Miles City, Custer, Forsyth, Billings, Butte, Havre, Wolf Point, Brockton, St. Louis, Serbia, and Sacramento have been preparing throughout fall semester for the production. Staff, faculty, administration, and alumni also contribute to the production, making the Madrigal Dinner a true community event.
Proceeds from this event support DCC music department scholarships and activities.
Reserved seating tickets for dinner and an evening of entertainment are $22.50 and must be paid for prior to the event.

Win a Free Madrigal Dinner Ticket
In conjunction with the 20th annual Madrigal Dinner, Dawson Community College Music Department will test your memory of past madrigals in the form of a trivia contest. Questions will be posted on the DCC website November 18, 21, 23, 28, and 30. The person with the most correct answers will receive a free Madrigal Dinner ticket. In case of a tie, a drawing will be held for the winning ticket. If a person has already purchased their ticket, their money will be refunded.
To access questions, go to dawson.edu or for those without online access, the current question will be posted on Lisa Shields’ voice mail at 406.377.9456. Answers may be submitted in hard copy form or by e-mailing [email protected] All answers must be received no later than December 1 at 5 pm.
