Halloween Spooktacular at DCC
In the Spirit of Halloween, Dawson Community College Associated Student Body (ASB) invites families and friends to gather for two special funtastic and spooktacular events on campus at 300 College Drive.
The college seems unassuming in the days leading up to Halloween but for three days at the end of October watch out! A Haunted House is about to materialize in the Dungeon (basement) of the Main Building on campus.
Volleyball vs. Sheridan -“Dig Pink” Night Oct. 9
The Buccaneer volleyball team is hosting a “Dig Pink” night during its 7 p.m. match against Sheridan College at home in Toepke Center on Tuesday, Oct. 9, to promote breast cancer awareness and raise money for research.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the “Dig Pink” initiative. “This is a great event to raise awareness for breast cancer. Each year millions of dollars are raised by volleyball teams around the nation. We are honored to be part of this movement.” said Head Coach John Marble.
MEA Gifted and Talented Education Workshop Oct 18 & 19
DCC is offering two educator workshops in conjunction with MEA days.
Gifted and Talented Education
Some of the most prevalent modern myths in education surround giftedness and gifted and talented programs. Instructors Lea Moore and Stephanie Soderquist will tackle the subject in 2 professional development workshops that will offer valuable insight that will assist teachers in understanding and meeting the complex challenges of identifying and providing for gifted and talented learners. Session times: 9-4PM, in the DCC Community Room. 1cr
DCC Signs New Transfer Agreement with Olds College
Dawson Community College in Glendive Montana and Olds College located in Alberta Canada have announced the details of an enhanced 2+2 agreement in Agriculture that offers students a competitive, streamlined opportunity to earn a Applied Bachelor's degree in Ag.
Fall Alumni Games - Softball, Men's and Women's Basketball
Dawson Community College invites all alumni to visit campus Saturday, October 13th. Dust off your shoes and come play. Softball game will be at 11am on the B.L. Official Response to Deputy Commissioner John Cech
At Monday night’s Board of Trustee meeting, Deputy Commissioner John Cech expressed concern for the sustainability of Dawson Community College (DCC) due to enrollment trends that challenge our ability to meet FY2013 budget projections. Our 2013 budget was prepared in the fall of 2010 approved in early 2011 by the legislature, the governor’s budget office, and the Board of Regents and was adopted for implementation. When submitted every expectation was that we would meet the enrollment required to fund the budget.
Brittany Pascal Assists with Mock Disaster
DCC student Brittany Pascal, from Loveland Colorado, joined 12 of her teammates and classmates as victims of a mock disaster to help our Glendive first response teams train over the weekend.
Student athletes at Dawson have volunteered 293 hours to date.

Talk Like a Pirate September 19
September is "Talk like a Pirate Month" at Dawson Community College! Pirates around the globe are celebrating! Our mascot "Bucky the Buccaneer" has a fine crew of students this year and he invites the community to join them on Wednesday, September 19 at 6p.m. in Toepke Center - 300 College Drive - as they celebrate during a special Buccaneer Open House.

Josh Link, DCC Alumnus, Lives a Dream
Josh Link from Hardin MT has traded in his baseball to finally realize his lifelong dream of becoming a professional bowler. Link with his memorable blue baseball glove pitched for the Dawson Community College Buccaneers during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
He began bowling when he was just two years old. Now 24, he has made his debut on the Professional Bowlers Association Tour in San Jose, CA during the Labor Day weekend.
The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) recognized Link after he posted league averages of 230+ over the past three years.
