Cole Johnson of Bloomfield, MT graduated from DCC in 2011 with high honors and was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
While at DCC Cole displayed his talents in the visual arts and contributed to the theater arts with his starring performance in the “The Foreigner.” In 2011, Cole transferred to Rocky Mountain College in Billings where he continues to excel in academics and theater. He received the academic success award in his major, computer science; and high honors on the dean’s list for 2011-2012. Most recently, Cole played Mercutio in a prohibition era version of “Romeo and Juliet” at RMC. Before coming to DCC, Cole served 6 years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, 3 years in Oklahoma City, and 3 years in Okinawa Japan.
Patty Copeland graduated from DCC class of 2012 with an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education. (She, also, received her AA degree in Art from DCC in 2004.) She loves working with children especially little babies. She is presently working in the infant room at Child Care Ministries in Glendive. Most days she has up to 7 babies from 2 months to 1 ½ years old. She loves rocking, holding, and snuggling with them. It is a very happy place with Patty there.
Benjamin Grann of Sheyenne, ND, DCC class of 2010, honor student, ASB senator, and a member of the DCC rodeo team.
Ben is currently in his last semester at North Dakota State University. He will earn his B.S. degree in Natural Resources Management. Ben interned the last two summers with the Natural Resources Conservation Service in North Dakota in the Jamestown and Devils Lake field offices. He accepted a job with the NRCS in Selfridge, ND, and will begin at the end of January. He is looking forward to the new experience and being in a new place. He says, “Other than that I'm just hoping to have fun this semester in college since it's my last one and go on from there.”
Ben competed for the NDSU rodeo team through Spring 2012. He is still rodeoing, although he is currently recovering from knee surgery a month ago. When his knee is healed up, he plans to start rodeo again for as long as he is healthy.
Jo-Eun Kang of Seoul, Korea art major and Phi Theta Kappa DCC 2011 graduate is pursuing her art degree at Chadron State College in Nebraska specializing in glass blowing and photography.
Darkest Dawn Martell of Glendive graduated from DCC in 2009. She is studying oceanography and marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, Alaska.
Cassidy Damm of Sidney, Montana business major and Phi Theta Kappa DCC 2011 graduate is a member of the United States Air Force stationed at the Osan Air Base, South Korea.
Art major Alissa Wynne of Glendive, graduated with high honors from DCC - class of 2012. She is pursuing her love of art, writing and teaching at the University of Montana in Missoula.
Chantell Bury of Glendive, DCC transfer 2010, MSU paleontology research in China, is a Geology major and executive director of "The Procrastinator Theater" at MSU, Bozeman. Look for November release of 10-track debut album "h3llomynameis" with sister, Cortney.
