Even Texas native Jim Cargill, president of Dawson Community College, has never seen an oil boom quite like the one exploding into Montana from North Dakota.
Earlier this year, Cargill began noticing the boom’s effect on his college, located less than 100 miles from Williston, N.D., the epicenter of the hectic Bakken oil development.

Little did Fleck know that filly would help break her on to rodeo's biggest stage.
Riding Dasher Dude - also known as Rootie - Fleck became the first North Dakota woman to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo in barrel racing. The 10-day event begins Thursday.

Montana Campus Corps at Dawson organized a Thanksgiving Day Run, Second Annual Bucky's Turkey Trot. This year saw 80 runners, the youngest just 6 and oldest 71. There were mother/daughter running groups, sisters, brothers running together and the Phinney's came in force with six members. We had runners from all over Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah even one runner from San Francisco, CA. We hope this becomes a family tradition for many residents in Glendive. The run raised nearly $2,000 before expenses and 600 lbs of food.
The Dawson Community College Art Department is proud to present the outstanding art works of the talented and creative student artists of Dawson Community College. Thirty-seven students will be exhibiting their artwork in the Dawson Community College Annual 2011 Fall Juried Student Art Show.
