Dawson Community College Head Coach Jim LeProwse is pleased to announce that he has received a verbal commitment from three Utah players for the 20113-2014 season. McKenzie Anderson and Haylee Hemmert both from Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah and Venessa Quintero from Box Elder High School in Brigham City, Utah. All three will graduate in 2013 and will continue their education and softball careers at DCC.

McKenzie Anderson, who will play middle infield for the Buccaneers, is a 2012 4A All-State, All-Region, All-Area player in Utah. She hit 14 doubles during the 2012 season. Coach LeProwse commented that McKenzie is a very talented and versatile player she can play middle infield, outfield and can also play catcher. She hits the ball very well to all fields. McKenzie will be a great addition to our program.

Haylee Hemmert will join her high school teammate McKenzie Anderson at DCC. Haylee will play outfield for the Buccaneers. Haylee hit .355 for Mountain Crest this past season. Coach LeProwse commented that Haley will bring some more speed and athleticism to the Buccaneer outfield. Haylee will add some more depth to our program.

Venessa Quintero, who will play outfield for the Buccaneers, is a 4A All-State, All-Region, All-Area, and offensive MVP from Box Elder High School. Venessa hit .508 for the 2012 season and has a .900 fielding percentage. Coach LeProwse commented that Venessa is one of the best hitters you will find. She has a ton of power and is a tough out for any pitcher to face. Venessa is very athletic has very good foot speed and exceptional arm strength from the outfield. I look for her to make an immediate impact in our outfield.

Coach LeProwse commented that he could not be happier with the addition of these three players. All three will add great depth to our program in addition to an already talented group of returning players. I have also been working on some very talented players from around the state of Montana and hope to get a commitment from them real soon.
