The Mon/Dak Conference selected these Dawson Community College players to The 2011 All Conference Team:
The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced the 2010-11 Academic Student-Athlete Awards as well as the 2010-2011 NJCAA All-Academic Teams. The 2010-2011 season marks the 28th year the NJCAA has recognized the success of its student-athletes in the classroom. With minimal changes the NJCAA program has been in place since 1983.

Brent Nelson Welding Instructor at DCC attended a Radiograph Interpreter Seminar June 13th through June 17th at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell Mt. Radiographs are one of nine methods of non destructive evaluation that can be done on welds. The seminar was coordinated by FVCC staff and attended by 6 college welding instructors all from Montana.
Adjunct instructors are being assembled by Dawson Community College for the next academic year. Individuals holding an appropriate Master’s degree from an accredited college who are interested in teaching courses within various transfer programs offered at DCC are welcome to apply.
Those with specialized credentials in the trades or vocational areas are also needed. Qualifications necessary for instructing Career and Technical courses at DCC are available from the Dean of Instruction.
During this two part workshop series offered this month at Dawson Community College, Debbie Sevier will provide instruction customized to student needs. She will start with topics like 100 commonly used words, questions, verbs, people, colors, numbers, and easy phrases.
Add some extra color to your home or garden, join instructor Mike Hunter as he presents the workshop Stained Glass—Make it in a Day on Saturday June 25 from 8-5 p.m. Students will spend the day creating an awesome one-of-a-kind stained glass light catcher. This highly addictive glass crafting class is only offered in the summer at DCC. Hunter will guide students in the preparation of stained glass designs and the processes of cutting glass, copper foiling, leading, and soldering. All you have to do is show up and have fun!
Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) will award a $639,583 grant to support its well-liked, statewide Campus Corps program that benefits more than 800 college students across the state.
The Dawson Community College Rodeo team will finish their season with the college national finals rodeo June 12-18 in Casper, Wyoming. In each event, the top three individuals from the region advance to the finals. Although DCC had several individuals in the top ten, only Jodi Gilson placed in the top three to advance on to the finals. Jody is a sophomore competing in the the barrel racing from Quesnel, BC, Canada. Congratulations to the DCC team for a great year and good luck to Jody.
The 2011 Mon-Dak all-conference softball team has recently been announced with several members of the DCC team being on the list. They include Lauren Binkoski, Nicole Miller, and Jordyn Aberle. Congratulations to the girls as they finished second place in the Mon-Dak with a 5-2 record.
The Dawson Community College Annual 2011 Spring Juried Student Art Show Reception and Awards Presentation, was held on Wednesday, April 27th. Gretchen Bederman, of the Visual Arts Department, announced the Art Scholarship winners for 2011-2012, handed out The People's Choice Award and eleven prizes chosen by this year's judges Helen Beres, President of Dawson County Arts Unlimited - The Gallery, and Bridger Bronze sculptor Pamela Harr.
