Dawson Community College Music Department will present the nineteenth annual production of the Madrigal Dinner on December 3 and 4 at the Toepke Center on the DCC campus. The castle doors will open each evening at 5:30 p.m., with feasting and festivities commencing at 6. Transformed into a Renaissance castle, the Toepke Center becomes the backdrop to a feast for eyes and ears fit for a king. Traditional and contemporary music await castle guests as vocal and instrumental performers, jesters, jugglers, and dancers provide the Lord of the Manner and his court an evening of enjoyment.
Story time for kids! Bring the little ones and enjoy the the kid craft workshop at this free event.
Many of the Dickinson State University Volleyball Players were awarded Dakota Athletic Conference post season awards, due to their team’s stellar play this season. The Blue Hawks won the 2010 DAC title, at one point defeated 15 opponents in a row, and went 15-2 in the Dakota Athletic Conference.
Junior outside hitter Ruth Johnson and senior middle blocker Karen Almeida were both named to the first team of the DAC. Courtnie Trustem, a junior outside hitter, and Rebecca Johnson, a freshman libero, were named to the second and third team.
Phi Theta Kappa will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots from December 3rd through the 10th. The club will have a Christmas tree display set up outside the DCC cafeteria where unwrapped gifts can be left.
Toys must be new with the tags still on them and child-safe (no lead-based paint, etc.). New clothes may also be donated.
Also, in an effort to help needy families in Glendive, Phi Theta Kappa is gathering non-perishable food items beginning November 23rd to put in Thanksgiving Baskets. There are boxes for donations outside the Library and the cafeteria.
Dawson Community College Art Department is proud to present the outstanding art work of DCC’s talented and creative student artists. Forty-one students will be exhibiting their artwork in the Dawson Community College Annual Fall 2010 Juried Student Art Show.
Montana Campus Corps at Dawson Community College, Glendive Community Members and the DCC Basketball teams are coming together to raise food and money for the Dawson County Food Bank. On November 25, 2010 there will be a 10K race starting at 9:15 a.m., a 5K run/walk at 9:30 a.m. and the 1 mile kids run at 10:30 a.m. Open registration is available online at dawson.edu and will also be available on race day at 8 a.m. in Body and Soul Fitness located at 116 S. Douglas Street.

Dawson Community College is pleased and excited to have the paintings of Billing’s artist Allison O’Donnell on display in Gallery 126. Her exhibit Organizing Elements will be open for public viewing from Monday, November 1st through Friday, December 17th. Gallery 126 hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm, and evenings Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6:30 to 9 pm. Located in room 126 computer lab next to the library.
Debbie Schendel, a freshman at Dawson Community College, has been named to the Mon-Dak All-Conference volleyball team for the 2010 volleyball season. Debbie, an outside hitter from Great Falls, Montana, had an impressive freshman year for the buccaneers previously being named Mon-Dak player of the week twice. Congratulations Debbie and the rest of the DCC Volleyball Team for an excellent season.
