April 22nd Joyce Ayre, Dawson Community College Athletic Director, enthusiastically accepted a $5,000 grant check from Teresa Wade, Operations Technician for Fidelity Exploration and Production Company. Wade submitted the grant application on behalf of the Dawson College foundation. The grant is a welcome addition to fund-raising activities dedicated to a soft surface on the walking track and up-to-date conditioning equipment.
The grant was awarded through the MDU Resources Foundation. Fidelity Exploration and Production is a MDU Resources company.

A work group has been formed at Dawson Community College to address the need for DCC to develop a new strategic plan, one consistent with organizational objectives and relevant to its current operational context and environment.
DCC Art instructor Gretchen Bederman is proud to present the outstanding art work of DCC’s talented and creative student artists. Thirty-six students will be exhibiting their artwork in the Dawson Community College Annual Spring Juried Student Art Show. Their artwork will be on display from April 19 through May 7 and May 13 in the Main Hallway Gallery. You can come by to see this wonderful array of paintings, drawings, and prints during regular building hours 7:30 AM – 10:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and until 5:00 PM on Friday.
The Dawson Community College Rodeo Team opened its spring season at the Montana State University Rodeo in Bozeman, MT. The team was in Bozeman April 8-11 for a double rodeo.
The Mon-Dak Athletic Conference has announced its fall 2009-10 academic award selections. Twenty-nine student athletes from Dawson Community College earned academic recognition. Of special note, DCC had more students honored than any other college in the 8 member Mon-Dak Conference. The conference includes Bismarck State College, North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, United Tribes Technical College, Lake Region State College, Miles City Community College, Williston State College and Dakota College at Bottineau.
For years kids ages 7-15 have enjoyed Dawson Community College Buccaneer Baseball camp. The camp is held from 10am to 4pm Saturday, April 24th and features instruction and tips from DCC players and coaches at Kolberg field next to the DCC campus.
Brent Diegel, Head Coach of the Dawson Community College baseball program, has announced the signing of student athlete Jesse Gullion, a third baseman from Brigham City, Utah. The 6-4, 190 pound third baseman throws right-handed and bats lefty. As a junior in 2009, Gullion led his high school team, the Box Elder Bees, in hits, RBI, and doubles. He batted a robust .410 with 43 hits, 5 homeruns, 20 Doubles, and posted a .460 On Base Percentage.
