Seven student-athletes, from colleges and universities across the state, will receive the 2012 Montana Athletes in Service Award sponsored by the Montana Campus Compact. Each student-athlete will be recognized this weekend for their outstanding commitment to civic engagement, volunteerism, and the impact that their service has on the community.
The 3rd Annual Bucky's Turkey Trot was a huge success, raising over 650lbs of food and $3,000 for the Dawson County Food Bank. This year we doubled our numbers with 172 participants.

Classes run from Nov 26th through Dec 13th. Certified Nursing Assistants, or CNAs, as they’re more commonly called, play a highly significant part in the field of health care. Also known as patient care technicians, orderlies, and nurse’s aides, these people provide an indispensable part of patient care. A Certified Nursing Assistant helps nurses in medical facilities by giving basic care to the patients, which is vital in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. The demand is high for qualified CNAs even in this time of global recession and economic failure.
Every year, Dawson Community College theater department presents a fall and spring event. Last year's fall play was the drama Frontier Justice 1898, and in the spring a comedy A Nice Family Gathering. This year, director Ron Conrad, begins the season with a hilarious hit from Seattle called Inspecting Carol written by Daniel Sullivan.
Dawson Community College alumnus Shelby Lindley was recently named head men's basketball coach and sports information director at Central Wyoming College. He was originally hired as an assistant for Rustler basketball this fall but was promoted when coach Curtis Condie resigned in October.
Originally from Wellsville, Utah Lindley was a member of the DCC men’s baseball team where, as a sophomore in 2007, he achieved Mon-Dak first team pitcher and utility player under former Buccaneer head coach Brent Diegel.
Fall is here, and with the increasingly cooler weather upon us, it’s the time of year for horse enthusiasts to be thinking about how they plan to get their horses through to spring in good shape.

Todd Knispel, Library Director for the Dawson Community College - Jane Carey Memorial Library is pleased to announce two donations to the Library.
TransCanada Corporation, who is proposing to construct the Keystone XL Pipeline in Montana, recently gave the Jane Carey Memorial Library a generous $6,000 dollar grant through their Community Investment initiative which has allowed Jane Carey Memorial Library to modernize the computer area in the Library.
Dessert, coffee and live music. Musicians of all genres are invited to display their craft in open mic forum, as the Dawson Community College Music Club hosts an evening of open mic entertainment with delectable Sturgis coffee and desserts November 2 at 5:30 pm in the Toepke Center.

Dawson Community College “Gallery 126” is pleased to present “Wax Works” with encaustic paintings by Jordan Pehler on exhibit from November 3 through January 25.
There will be an artist reception for Jordan Pehler from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

DCC will host the District 2C Volleyball Championships on October 25-27. Eight area teams will be vying for the right to participate in the Eastern C Divisional Tournament in Sidney on November 1-3. Four teams will advance from the District Championship to the Divisional Championship and a chance to earn a spot in the State Tournament.
