Students can learn the skills needed to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in classes offered by Dawson Community College and Glendive Medical Center October 4 through 26, 2010. Classes will be held at GMC and the Extended Care Facility from 5-9pm Monday-Thursday and 1:45-10pm Friday. Registered Nurse Donna Knuths teaches the course. Child Care Resourse and Referral and Dawson Community College will host Kurt Cunningham, an Education Specialist for Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. This workshop is an early childhood education program that builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them.
Through a wide range of activities and experiences, Growing Up WILD provides an early foundation for developing positive impressions about nature and lifelong social and academic skills. For teachers and parents of young children.

The Commissioner of Higher Education, Sheila Stearns, will be conducting a series of community listening sessions across the state over the next few weeks.  Sixteen communities have been chosen to host the interactive events were the Commissioner will be joined by various members of the Board of Regents. The sessions are designed to allow individuals to voice concerns about the higher education system and to offer suggestions for its improvement.

On September 18, 2010, Dawson Community College will host a workshop for grade school teachers and early childhood professionals. Jane Kitson, from Atlanta, GA will be on campus to present Leap Into Literacy.
