Ray Glueckert, Head Coach of the Dawson Community College softball team, is proud to announce that sophomore Samantha Ewalt has signed a letter of intent to play softball for the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks next year. DSU competes in the DAC-10 Conference of the NAIA.
The Glendive American Legion baseball program has hired Alex Rivas as its new head coach for the upcoming 2009 season. Rivas was with the Blue Devils last year as an assistant with head coach Travis Langan. Rivas also helped with the program as an assistant in 2005 when Chad Jones was the head coach for the Blue Devils.
Rivas came to Glendive from Kearns, Utah in the fall of 2003 to play college baseball at Dawson Community College. He played for Brent Diegel and the Bucs for two years. Rivas then played one season in Chicago at Olivete Nazarene University.
Brent Diegel, Head Coach of the Dawson Community College Buccaneers baseball team, is proud to announce today that sophomore catcher Jeff Allen has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the University of Texas in Brownsville. The UT-Brownsville Scorpions compete in the Red River Athletic Conference and in Region VI of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Dawson Community College will hold a Basic Computer Skills workshop from 1-4pm on Friday April 17, 2009 in room 147. Topics for this workshop include an introduction to the computer and its parts, commonly used terminology, how to turn it on and off, saving and retrieving files, Internet searching and commonly used programs. The DCC Early Childhood Education Department is sponsoring a workshop on Tuesday, March 24, 7;00-9:00 p.m., titled Stress Management on Steroids. The workshop is open to the public and available for Early Childhood training hours. It will be held in the Ullman Center, Room 105.
This workshop is an overview of anxiety disorder with solutions that work from the cradle to the nursing home (or-from diapers to depends.) The presenter is Sandy Eickmann, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Cognitive therapist in Glendive.

Dawson Community College is sponsoring a Basic Information Security Awareness Seminar. Presented by the State of Montana, this seminar is FREE of charge. It will be held at Dawson County High School in room D131 on March 24th from 1-5pm.
Emily Prouty, a senior at Harvey High School in Harvey, ND has signed a national letter of intent to join the Dawson Community College Buccaneer golf team next year. Emily is a four time state qualifier in the North Dakota Class B Girls Golf Tournament, with two top-twenty finishes to her credit. “Emily brings a great work ethic and vitality to our program,” said Coach Rowlett.
An all-state blocker from Sidney High School has signed on to play volleyball this fall for Dawson Community College.
Kirsten Nunn, who graduated from Lambert High School after transferring mid-way through her senior year in 2008, has experience both as a middle and right side hitter and said she expects to play right side for the Lady Buccaneers.
She said she is excited to join the team. “I want to play for Dawson as a way to help pay for school and for the love of the game,” she said.
On Thursday, March 5th, there will be an artist reception for Jerry David Cornelia in the Dawson Community College Art Gallery 126 from 5:00 – 6:30 with an artist talk at 5:30. This gathering is free and open to the public. Please join us for a viewing of Jerry’s artwork, for conversation, and refreshments. If you can’t make it then, Gallery 126 is open Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, and Tuesday-Thursday 6:30 – 9:00pm. Jerry’s artwork is on exhibit from March 2 – April 10.
