Pastor Pete Bruno facilitated the creation-evolution debate on Feb. 24 at Dawson Community College. Over 190 people arrived to watch the hour and a half debate. There was so much interest in the event spectators were moved from the Ullman Center lecture hall to the Toepke Center Auditorium. Bruno said he was pleased with the turn out.
Mr. Darrin Clinton from the Creation Museum and Dr. Michael Booker, DCC History Professor, engaged in a lively debate over the two points of view.
“There was great feedback from the community” said Bruno. “Kudos to Dr. Michael Booker for participating in the debate and to all the staff who helped out at the last-minute. You did Dawson Community College proud.”
“Between the people who attended and the informational newspaper article, the ‘word’ on the street today was very positive about DCC as a high quality education institution. One comment was, “If they can do so well with that, they can do anything.” Bruno concluded.
