The Boo-ccanner haunted house is spooktacular! How brave are you?

In the spirit of Halloween, Dawson Community College Associated Student Body (ASB) invites families and friends to gather for two special funtastic and spooktacular events on campus at 300 College Drive.

The college seems unassuming in the days leading up to Halloween but for three days at the end of October watch out! A Haunted House is about to materialize in the Dungeon (basement) of the Main Building on campus.

Join the Zumba exercise party!

Licensed Zumba Instructor, Kathy Cross, will present the course Oct 21 through Dec 11 from 4:30 p.m.-5:20 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays in the old gym on the Dawson Community College campus.

Early Childhood - MtAEYC gathering October 16

The first gathering of Montana Association for the Education of Young Children (MtAEYC) at Dawson Community College takes place on October 16th, 2013. The session is an opportunity to network for any K-3, preschool or childcare provider. Keynote speaker Sharon DiBrito from Missoula Montana will present in the Ullman Center (UC105) between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. DiBrito is executive Director of Montana AEYC and has operated the Lolo Preschool for 25 years.
 

DCC Rodeo's Cody Floyd leads Big Sky Region Bull Riding

After the Big Sky Region's fall season, Cody Floyd leads the bull riding standings by over 230 points.  The Dawson Community College standout was on fire this fall, successfully riding eight out of ten bulls. Floyd captured championships at Montana State Northern Rodeo (Havre, MT) and Miles Community College Rodeo (Miles City, MT) while earning runner-up honors at Northwest College Rodeo #1 (Cody, WY) and University of Montana-Western Rodeo (Dillon, MT).

Dawson Community College, ranked this week by Bankrate.com, 14th out of the top 25 two-year public colleges in the United States for its value and vocational education opportunities. DCC has always offered value for dollars spent. Being a value-added college has paid off for DCC as the next generation of first-time college students, trends toward a more affordable college experience.

PEC Basic Orientation Safety Awareness Course - Oct 16

PEC Basic Orientation Safety Awareness Course for oil and gas field workers includes both SafeGulf and SafeLand USA safety training. This one-day training session takes the place of multiple Operator orientations. It provides each student a general idea of life and safety issues in the oil and gas industry, upstream, downstream, onshore or offshore.

Glendive Medical Center seeks candidates enrolled in CNA program

Dawson Community College in conjunction with the Glendive Medical Center will offer a CNA classes October 7th through the 29th at a cost of $70 plus book.

TAACCCT grant provides over $500,000 for programs

The Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education in partnership with administrators, faculty, and staff at Montana's 2-year colleges wrote a grant application for the United States Department of Labor's Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant program (TAACCCT). Dawson Community College president, Mike Simon, reported a successful outcome last Friday. The US Department of Labor awarded Montana $25 million to fund the grant proposal.

Hoagland invited to serve on State Career & Technical Education Board

Dawson Community College announced this week that Leanne Hoagland, Agribusiness Program Director, is serving on the State Career and Technical Education Board this 2013-2014. The Montana Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) and the Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) extended the invitation to Hoagland.
