The Dawson women's basketball program and head coach Tracey Clingingsmith announced the signing of Kaylyn Delaney this week. She is a 6-foot forward for Grass Range High School in Montana and daughter to Troy and Gina Delaney of Grass Range.

Delaney was awarded All State Honors in both her Junior and Senior years as well as First Team All Conference both years. She helped lead her team to the State Championship game this season where they took second by just six points.

"Kaylyn is a smart player" said Coach Clingingsmith. "She will bring tons of enthusiasm and competitive play to our Buccaneer team. Kaylyn is a three sport athlete, having competed in basketball, volleyball and track previously. She finished the 2012 basketball season shooting 48% from the field 70% from the foul line. Her team lost just two games, both to Belt in the Divisional and State Finals."

Also a gifted student, Delaney earned Academic All State her Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. She will begin her college experience at Dawson Community College with an eye on a career in Nursing.

"I'm honored to continue my basketball career at Dawson Community College while pursuing my career goals through their excellent educational program." said Delaney.
